Didn't realize how much I liked this until a classmate quoted it back to me.

"The world is changing faster than people are. It is a sad, but true, fact of life. As the world grows smaller and smaller, in large part thanks to the advancement of technology, people are growing closer and closer. However, that does not seem to mean that people are understanding people any better than they ever have. Even well meaning people are misunderstanding what a situation needs because they have not explored the ideas of the new people, but instead, rely on what “everybody” has always known." -From my Family/Child Advocacy Plan paper

This is the Yuletide Story I did this year. My first ever piece of Fan Fiction!

Christmas with Senpai (Persona 4, Protagonist (Souji Seta)/Kanji Tatsumi , 1192 words) For Nightlit: Kanji just stared at the mistletoe. It was directly above them, he and Souji had completely forgotten that Rise had put it there.

There is a reason that understanding the context of what is said is so important... and it will amaze you at how often at how often children will challenge your mind to find the correct one.

Ex.

Ms. B decided that the students should make these cute little penguins for her wall outside the class. To make them you cut out the pieces and glue them on (in a order, that was of course not given) to make a cute little penguin with a scarf and hat.

Ms. B's first try... well it didn't go very well. So here I am at the back with her trying to make another faster than the students, so that we will have an example. student S of course beats me to the finish and comes up to ask how to glue it together.

Ms. B: Just hold on S, Mr. C and I are still making it out

S: oookkayyy and sits back down to watch us

I'm still cutting and pasting as fast as I can as more students come up to ask us, each time Ms. B tells them to go sit down and wait. S, trying to be helpful, yells at the class

S: Leave them alone, they are making out!

I meant to post this a while ago. Starting last month I got a TA position at a local elementary school! The class I was assigned to is a first grade classroom taught by a veteran 1st grade teacher. The class has 18 students in it and they are... social! yes social is the word we use! But I've come to love them all very dearly in the month I have been working with them.

So! From here on out (at least until this summer I think), you, my avid readers! Will get a glimpse into the life of a TA who is working on his degree in teaching, in the classroom of one of of the oddest assortment of children I've ever seen!!!

I promise that at least most of the Teacher Moments or Teacher Stories I post will be cute, or funny. Though I'm BOUND to rant... really all I need is a roll of duck tape and some super glue and I could fix the over social problem... My teacher laughed at that... after she thought about it.

~ ~Disclaimer~ ~ I will never mention or tell the location of the school or the name of anyone I interact with there, nor I will I ever post picture that shows faces or location. All students are given a random letter for their name and adults, usually by their position. Thanks for understanding!

Teacher- "Who can tell me about Spring?"
looks around ~calls on a student that isn't paying attention~
Teacher- "Child Z what can you tell me about Spring?"
child H- "It is the first season!"
Teacher- "That's right but I want child Z to tell me something about Spring"
Child A- "Its when the babies are born"
Teacher- "Yes but I want child Z to tell me, now hush please"
Child A2- "its its when things grow!"
Teacher- "I didn't ask you guys, I ASKED child Z"
~Child Z looks up~ "What?" in a puzzled/annoyed voice. He was working very hard on his coloring project from this morning...
me- cracks ups behind his hand at the back of the class hoping the students don't notice

I love teaching
