Dreams, Hopes and Reality

Some days it drives me insane that I have some wonderful hobbies that I can do, but either can't do or don't do for whatever reason. Take my cello. I love my cello, I love playing my cello, the sound it makes just vibrates in my chest and makes me smile. But right now, thanks in part to other parts of my life (i.e. student teaching and such); I'm not even sure if my poor cello is in tune. It sits in the corner with my fencing gear, renaissance swords, across the room from my sewing machine, camera and costume designs. All at one point a major focus in my life and now, it falls to the side of the next phase. It amazes me how in life, we have so many dreams and things we love to do, but do them, we have to give up other things that we loved.
Okay so it was kind of a pity rant, but I hope it at least made you take a second and look around you. I believe that everything I have given up is worth what I'm gaining. So take a second, look around and decide for yourself if it was worth it for you.
